They are KICKING DAD OUT OF ICU! In the morning he will move back to a regular room, and it won't be long until he'll leave that hospital altogether, so we are in fast forward to find the right rehab facility for him. The PT is fully confident Dad will be ready very soon to meet the requirements of rehab. Today he sat up in a chair for an hour and a half, the whole time exercising (shifting himself from side to side). And when he was done, he still had enough energy left to help get back in bed!
Apparently Dad worked up quite a thirst, because when we got there he was pretty adamant about wanting a milkshake. :) "I need ice cream." And not, he insisted, from the hospital cafeteria. (After looking into one of the containers left over from his lunch, I simply cannot blame him. The people who brought you pureed veal should not be trusted to make tasty treats.) At any rate, I was darn happy to run and get him a chocolate milkshake.
Dad didn't have much more to talk about today than his milkshake and when he could expect to move down the hall. When the nurse hadn't come in to give us a time frame for his move, he told me, "Go find out," and shooed me out the door with his hand! He can't wait to take that next step on his journey back home. And neither can we.

I know that I haven't been very verble but know that I have been praying every day. As far as rehab centers I would love to have Leo here at Salt Lake Regional but Heathsouth is a good center and closer to home but futher away for Becky to see after work. I do want to come visit but my live has gotten in the way along with the weather.Love Vickie Brown
Dear Leo, Teddie, Rachel, Becky and family,
I am overwhelmed with joy. Am in Houston after meetings in Albuquerque. Going on Monday to Chicago to interview with Trinity Evangelical Divinity School seniors looking for a pastor for our Valley EFC in Kemmerer. Leo, I am so thrilled at your progress. In the three visits I have been down to see you, at no time could I conceive of this extent of God's miracle in you. I am thrilled with hundreds of others; we have prayed. Keep up the battle and we are praying to the Lord for total healing. I love you all,
Pastor Rich Carlson, Supt. IWD
