Dad is a little better today. He's trying to talk more and he was able to do quite a bit with the occupational and physical therapists. I have been a little worried about his short-term memory, but he was able to answer questions about his previous therapy sessions while with the PT today, which is great. On the downside, the ileus is still an issue and they discovered that he has some sort of infection so they're starting to treat that (typical "getting better" stuff).
It's possible that Dad will be moving fairly soon to the next facility in his rehabilitation process. Please pray that we would make a good decision about where to take him next in our quest to get him home.
Thank you all again for your kind words, your thoughtful cards and calls, and the support of your prayers and your love. This is such a long, hard process. We need it.

What a blessing Pastor Rich Carlson has been through out this
ordeal leo has been going through!
I hope to meet him in March. I know the strength that my best friend, Leo, has inside of him.
I have always believed that the mind can heal the body with positive and focused determination;
that and with the help of Jesus Christ, how can it fail. Love
to you all, Russ
